Our Specialities

Radiologists

Radiologists are specialist doctors who are trained to read and interpret medical images. Radiologists play a crucial role in diagnosing diseases, detecting cancer early, providing screening services, and guidance to other clinicians to ensure optimal patient care. They also perform image-guided minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat diseases.

Today, radiologists use a wide range of imaging techniques including X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Many radiologists choose to specialise in specific areas such as musculoskeletal, breast, cardiac, paediatric, gastrointestinal, or interventional radiology.

Interventional radiologists are a type of clinical radiologists who specialise in performing image-guided procedures. These procedures are less invasive, reduce morbidity and mortality, and allow for faster patient recovery and hospital discharge as they are performed under local anaesthesia.

Clinical Oncologists

Oncologists are specialist doctors responsible for managing and treating cancer, including radiotherapy and systemic anticancer therapies like chemotherapy. Often, they are the primary medical point of contact for cancer patients, working closely with the patient’s general practitioner (GP).

Today, cancer treatment is complex and therefore must be tailored to the individual patient. This necessitates collaborative work with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive the best possible care throughout their journey. These multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) of different health professionals evaluate and treat cancer using a range of treatments and interventions.
